Reconstructing the Monster - Take 2

I’m pretty sure I haven’t posted this here yet. I’m happy to announce I will be having a short story, In the Footsteps of Giants, appearing in an upcoming anthology by Emby Press: Reconstructing the Monster. I’m fond of the press, so it is quite pleasing to me to have a chance to be included. The selection looks very good.

The anthology is “an homage to classic horror films”, and each piece is inspired by a different pre-1974 horror film. My own inspiration might be considered a bit cheeky, being Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster (1964). But I won’t say more than that.

It is coming out as an ebook, a paperback, and a hardback.

In 2003, lecturers and students from the University of Plymouth MediaLab Arts course used a £2,000 grant from the Arts Council to study the literary output of real monkeys. They left a computer keyboard in the enclosure of six Celebes Crested Macaques in Paignton Zoo in Devon in England for a month, with a radio link to broadcast the results on a website.[10]

Not only did the monkeys produce nothing but five total pages[11] largely consisting of the letter S, but the lead male began by bashing the keyboard with a stone, and the monkeys continued by urinating and defecating on it.
